Great day for PBL....

So I have 10 of my 26 seniors IN class today because the others are on the senior trip to Washington DC. When given the option of work time with music or watching a movie...they opted for work time. Now, that may have had to do with the movie choices I had but hey I'll take it!

And they're actually working on their groups reading literature, condensing history, discussing themes, and creating lesson plans.

Group Hiring, era choice, and work day 1

Picture Above: Adam poses for a picture as student share their need to knows for the project. Today the eight leaders hired their group members and started filling out contracts. I had the kids submit digital contracts on Edmodo this time and it worked out awesome! I read through them, printed, graded, and dig ed them all in 30 minutes and the only time I had to shuffle a stack of papers is as I handed them back. After doing contracts students chose their era and had to get to work reading as a group and listing questions or things they needed more info on. The groups were quiet and reading or discussing for the last 30 minutes. Encouraging start!

Project 4 Knows and N2Ks

Adam leads the class in knows and need to knows for Project 4. This is right after the students received the rubric and had 15 minutes to brainstorm think-pair-share style before discussion as a class.
